The seeds of what would become Yofix were planted in 2013 by
Ronen Lavee, founder and CTO. He was an agricultural engineer in Asia at the time and, suffering from lactose intolerance, Ronen couldn't find an alternative to dairy yogurt that appealed to him and so developed his own recipe. Back in Israel, he decided to take this project to the next level.
He experimented with more than 100 fermented formulas based on natural ingredients until he finally found the “Yofix 5 formula”. This formula uses only grains, seeds, fruit and live cultures, has no added sugars, preservatives, or colors and yet it has the creamy texture and great flavour of yogurt.
In 2021, Yofix closed a Series A round, with private equity and industry funds, to achieve its
mission: to help brands and retailers thrive with better tasting, healthier and more effective
plant-based products.
